It's October 1st! It's been a long time since I did a post here. My book, Our Hawaii Vacation, was published in June! This month, Hawaii will start to allow visitors to bypass quarantine by presenting a negative COVID-19 on Oct. 15! Hope that this new program works out well for everyone, airlines, travelers, and especially locals. Can't wait to get back to Hawaii soon. Would you feel safe traveling yet?
I haven't been very active on Twitter. I almost missed the 2020 #FallWritingFrenzy, an amazing writing opportunity organized by @KaitlynLeann17 and @LydiaLukidis. This fun event helps celebrate the season, work on writing, and connect with fellow Kidlit writers!!
Thanksgiving is my favorite, so I picked image #4 for the challenge and wrote a very brief PB, under 200 words. My story came out to 119 words, to be exact. Hope you enjoy it and have a fun and safe Fall season!
Ample Pie
By Elizabeth Janczyk
It was Thanksgiving and time for the feast.
The table was set. “Y’all ready to eat?”
Carrots, stuffing, light, and dark meat.
A delicious holiday meal! “Please, take your seats!”
There’s the blessing and sharing what we’re most thankful for.
Then we gobbled the food, ‘till we could eat no more!
Next came dessert. “Don’t forget to try...
The chocolate tart, pumpkin pudding, and there’s AMPLE pie!”
“I’ll take a slice of AMPLE, please. Vanilla ice-cream on the side.”
“Ok. So you mean you want the APPLE pie?”
“Yes! I said, AMPLE pie!
Can’t you hear me? Did you even try?”
“Ok, then… Take your piece! Two, or three!
There’s room for more pie but, please… save AMPLE for me!”
Thanks for sharing this cute rhyme with us for the fall writing frenzy, I really loved the y'all! It pulled me in to the atmosphere
This is adorable...and so true! :D
